    Product Details

Continental’s WinterContact SI Plus is a premium winter tire for passenger cars, mini-vans and crossovers, designed to deliver uncompromised traction, inspiring safety in every winter condition. Thanks to its PolarPlus Technology, the WinterContact SI Plus remains pliable, even under the most extreme cold temperatures for maximum grip on snow and ice-covered roads. The WinterContact SI Plus’ tread design enhances wet performance, while minimizing the risk of hydroplaning for ultimate winter security.

    Snow Peak Rated

The 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicates the tire is rated for Severe Snow Service. This is the acceptable standard for winter driving in Canada and provides improved safety on snow and ice.

    Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

    • Continental WinterContact™ SI Plus is engineered with an advanced tread compound and structured siping to dramatically improve ice and snow

    • Polar Plus Technology: Tread compound stays pliable in very cold temperature condition

    • Silane additives in the compound enhance grip in slippery wet, snow and icy conditions

    • Traction Grooves: Provide additional biting edges inside the tread grooves for improved snow-on-snow traction and grip

    • Alignment Verification System: Extends the life of the tire by visually identifying possible vehicle misalignment

    • Wheels sold separately

Quality tire, good choice for car and CUV

This is my third set of this tire, my fourth Continental winter tire purchase. I expect these to be good for icy conditions and extreme cold on clear pavement (Manitoba winter). Tire wear rate has been good previously.

Stocked quantity was 4 on website. Ordered and paid, next day received a call only 3 were found. Ordered 1, (3 ordered from a different location), came to pick up, had to wait for a very long time and watch depressed and listen to cooments like "I guess I am the only one here" to get the tire for me.

Q: Can I use the same rims for summer tires

    2 Answers
    • A: You can if you use the same size tire for winter, I chose to go down from 19" summer to a 17" winter tire I just find it cheaper for me to buy winter rims and have the winter tire installed on them, I don't want salt chewing up my summer rims, and the cost of having them taken off, balanced every time (winter tires for me last 4 years and it's about the same cost of buying the rims) but it's up to you, but yes if you're using the same size for your winter tires as summer tires, you can use the same rim these tires were awesome last winter, my best winter tire purchase so far, and I'm over 50

Q: I tried to put the recommended vehicle air pressure of 36 psi but it was too hard on the road so I have to reduce it to 34 psi. My question is, do I have to put the recommended vehicle psi or less air pressure since it is a new tires?

    • A: You are still good with 34 psi for new tires.

Q: The spec of the tires in my car shows 225/60 R17, does this tire fit? If I am going to buy separate set of wheels for this tire, what is the wheel size?

    2 Answers
    • A: Your wheel size would be the 17 of the R17. If you need to buy another set of wheels (rims actually) they need to be 17 inch. But not all 17 inch rims are the same as the depth may be different from one vehicle model to another. Check with Canadian Tire and give them your make and model for the correct rims.
