Q: What type of grade is the blade on this knife please?

A: When I checked the website to answer your question I saw under specifications that it is Residential/DIY which I think it is the softest 52/54. Here is what I found online on this topic. Hope it helps: “Hardness Rockwell C (HRC) A knife's hardness is measured on the Rockwell C scale, which indicates its ability to retain its shape. The HRC of a knife can indicate its quality and how easy it is to sharpen: 52–54: Decent quality, but considered a soft blade 54–56: Typical for kitchen knives, and easier to sharpen than most blades 56–58: Typical for premium kitchen knives, and retain their sharpness longer 58–60: Typical for pocket knives and premium Japanese kitchen knives, and retain their sharpness longer 60–62: Blades are sharper for longer, but more prone to becoming brittle Blade condition A knife's blade condition can indicate its grade. A and A+ knives usually have their original factory edges, while A- and lower grades may have been used or resharpened. Handle The grade of a knife's handle can also indicate its quality. For example, A-grade snakewood handles should have a figure over the entire handle.”
