I wasn’t sure if the battery would last long enough to cover my whole yard since it’s pretty big but this mower got the job done. The battery also charges fairly quickly. And mostly importantly, it’s so much quieter than other lawn mowers I’ve used in the past.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

This is an exceptional battery. It is comparable with major brands in terms of build quality. The price is much better though. I have mostly been using it in my lawnmower.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Is it okay to partially charge the battery?

    3 Answers
    • A: I am a bit surprised by the customer service response to this question. Unless Yardworks is using some sort of antiquated technology, the the last part of their reply is totally untrue. I agree that you should fully charge the battery before using it again, but repeated fully depleting a battery damages the battery! Unless it is an NI-MH battery which these are not. It is best to charge your battery when you start to notice a drop in the power it is able to provide to your equipment. This is very easy to look up if you want to confirm it. I am also not calling down Yardworks or their employees (I own many of their products and they are great), I am merely suggesting that they have given you some incorrect advice in this case.

Q: Hi, does the 48v 6ah have more run time than the 4ah ? if so how much ? Thanks

    • A: OK, I feel like I have to fix all these now that I have seen them... What they have replied is not untrue per se, but it is not entirely accurate either. So the rating on these battery are not the Amperage of the battery, but rather in Amp-Hours... this is a rating of how long the battery will last not its power output. So for instance if you used this 6AH battery on a tool that draws 1 amp it will last for 6 hours before you need to charge it, and by extension, on a tool that draws 6 Amps, it will last only 1 hour, and likewise on a 12A tool for 30 minutes and so on. So to answer your question, if you are used to using the 4Amp-hour battery, the 6 amp-hour will last 6/4 or 1.5 times longer. Hope that helps someone at least!

Q: Can this battery be charged with the 2Ah charger?

    3 Answers
    • A: Ok, so you can go buy the charger they have listed below, but the 2Ah charger should work as well. As I explained in a previous post, these ratings are not the amperage the batteries are rated at, but rather a measure of how long the battery will last (amp-hours). To help clarify, the 6Ah battery will last for 6 hours if you use it on a tool that draws only 1Amp. By extension if you use the 2Ah charger on the 6Ah battery, it should work, but it will take 6/2 or 3X longer to charge. So if it takes 8 hours for the charger to charge a 2Ah battery, it will take 8X3=24 hours to charge your 6Ah battery, and this is why they suggest the quick charger.

Q: How long should a fully charged 48v3ah battery last and how long should it take to recharge?

    Anonymous3 years ago
    2 Answers
    • A: I have posted a lot on this battery thread, but I know when I ask a question, I want the correct answer and not a stock answer. Please read some of the other questions if you want more information, but basically the rating on these batteries are in amp-hours which is a direct measurement of the battery run time. How long the battery will last will be determined by what you are using it to run, so if you use it in your weed-eater, it might run for an hour, and in your lawn mower, it might only last for 30 minutes... this is directly related to how much power your equipment draws. So the answer to your question is... It depends on what you use the battery with.
