Yardworks Replacement 24V 20 Ah SLA Battery is for use with several Yardworks Cordless Lawn Mowers (CT#: 60-1777, 60-1778 and 60-1784)
Charge the battery every 2 weeks even when not in use
Store inside during the winter - batteries are sensitive to cold temperatures during winter months, and should be stored in a warm place (between -5 to 10 Celsius is optimum temperature for storing in off-season months)
Do not store an empty battery - batteries kept in a prolonged state of full discharge can lead to problems when trying to recharge. Lead-acid batteries have a low self-discharge rate so charge your battery before storing it for the winter
This product carries a 1 year exchange warranty redeemable at any Canadian Tire store.

If only I’d have known…would have bought a gas mow
8 months ago
Battery only lasted two summers. Price is outrageous. Original battery lasted longer than replacement. Spending $300 for two batteries in 2 years is just wrong. May as well have just bought a gas powered.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Current batch must have lost all charge in storage and been kept that way. Brand new out of box, voltage is below 1.0V. Kept battery charging for 24H and no change in state.
Since product line (mower) is discontinued, it makes sense that this is old stock and it died on the shelf.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Yardworks battery are trash

First one lasted for a few years, the replacement less than two. Glad they don't make them anymore. What a waste. If I could give a zero rating I would.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello calgary89, We're concerned to learn that you had a less than great experience with this your Yardworks 24V battery. The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. Please call Yardworks customer service at 1-866-523-5218 and one of their representatives can assist in resolving your concerns. - Yardworks Customer Support.

A: The original which came with the mower had a charger. My local store did not have a replacement when I needed it, so I had to get one from another supplier. It did not come with a charger.

Q: What is the expected run time per charge on the Yardworks cordless lawnmower battery 060-2142-6?

Q: what is the expected lifespan of this battery?
assume that you follow the instructions to take the battery inside in the winter and, charge it for a day every two weeks.

A: I had my original battery for 6 years and I did not follow any guidelines to charging it whatsoever. The last 2 years, after it was frozen, I bought this new battery. I am following a strict charging routine and the battery is getting stronger as I do this. I think this is key to long battery life.
As for the life span, I read somewhere that a battery like this should have 250-300 discharges (lawns mowed). That translates into a long time if you mow your lawn once per week!

Q: Will this battery work for a 60-1767-6 lawnmower?

A: I was told by Sunrise (company that handles Yardworks parts) that the battery will work. You just have to remove the two batteries from inside the casing and install them into the 1767.
From what I'm told it's basically the same battery in a different case.

Q: I have a 20v and 20ah lawn mower battery how long is the first charge and charges there after, can you over charge this battery
11 years ago
1 Answer
A: We recommend for the first charge 12-15 hours. Charges after that would depend on how depleted the battery is, the charger will indicate when the battery is fully charged. Yes the battery can be overcharged and we advise not to leave a battery plugged into the charger permanently. Over the winter it will need to be charged every 2-3 weeks when not in use.

Q: Can they be overcharged?
Forgot and put the battery on the charger for 4-5 days. Came back - mower wouldn't go and had some liquid sitting in the holder and around the battery (seemed like water). Did I overcharge it and gas everything out? Likely need a new battery?
1 Answer
A: You did not overcharge the battery. The battery unfortunately is no longer able to take a charge as one of the cells is not functioning. Please take back to Canadian Tire to recycle the battery and you may call to order a replacement battery if you are under warranty via the toll free helpline: 1 877 888 3872 or you may purchase at your local Canadian Tire store, 60-2142.
