Great digger for sand and soil applications. Not so good for digging into clay.

Worked well for me

I was apprehensive about purchasing this product because it looked cheap, but I only needed it for 12 - 4ft holes. It worked great for me and had no signs of wear & tear when I was done. The soil type was 1ft of topsoil, 2ft of sand and 1ft of clay. Some of the clay was sticky and had to be poked out, but that would be the same with any other product I suspect.

We have clay/rocky soil. We should have taken ours back, but we kept it, and then rented a gas powered digger. Perhaps, yes, in the right conditions this would have been helpful.

I bought one of these, but took it back because it was not very effective for our soil type -- solid clay and rocky. In the right conditions it would be perfect.
