Better than nothing

I accidently wrote this review for the 18" bag. I actually have the 14" mower and bag. So here it is again in under proper item: Got this at the same time as my 14" Yardworks mower. You have to keep the handle up to a certain degree of pitch while mowing or the hook will keep falling off the mid rail and it gets annoying. I'm thinking I may be doing something wrong but I do not see any other way in which this fastens on to the mower more securely. Once you get used to it, it will fall off alot less and it gets actually tolerable. It is the lesser of two evils to not having a grass catcher at all. I just wish they somehow came out with a more practical way of keeping it on there. I do not have a heck of a lot of lawn so I'm happy with this Yardworks mower/catcher combo.

Marginal utility

Like the views expressed in the reviews for this product's 18" version, I find this product is only marginally better than nothing at all. The proper way to attach this product is not obvious and, given that it frequently falls off, I am left wondering whether I'm doing it correctly. The fact that there are no instructions for assembly and operation, nor even a photo showing the bag attached to the mower, does nothing to alleviate this confusion. Moreover, the shape of the grass catcher is not optimal for the tragectory of the clippings flying out of the mower. The result is that about 10-20% of the clippings miss the bag altogether, making it less than brilliantly effective. In time, I expect I will be able to modify this product to stay on and catch grass, but that should obviously not be necessary. Finally, priced at $39.99, it is almost as expensive at the $59.99 mower to which it is attached. I feel that half that price would be more appropriate, even if it worked well.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How does the Grass catcher attach to lawn mower? Just wondering...it seems like people are having trouple keeping this catcher attached. is there a certain way to attach it so it stays on?

A: The bag hooks to the center bar and the lower portion of the bag connects to the roller bar using 2 hooks.
