Okay for basic yard trimming

Works okay for basic yard work, but the most annoying feature is the self feeding nylon line that often needs to be pulled apart and threaded as it jams or breaks off. I expected a better system for such an expensive yard trimmer. If you tackle heavy duty weeds that are high, it will wreak havoc on the spooling mechanism, so it's best for light duty only.

Decent build quality, poor design. Could cause injury.

The build quality seems good. It feels solid and not likely to break in the short run. It has plenty of power. Too much, actually. If the 40v had been used to extend run time, rather than feed a higher RPM, that would have been a better approach. The high RPM means the line is under more stress and gets worn more quickly, or breaks more often. It is heavy. Very heavy. Combine the weight with the unit being very unbalanced and it leads to wrist/forearm/elbow fatigue. The unit is very right-side heavy and constantly wants to twist. I could see it leading to injury.

Got this to go with my yard works mower. Works well. Battery is efficient and charges quicky. Only drawback is the trimmer line - had to replace it after 1 summer of use - it was easy to install the new line. Happy with my purchase

Love This Trimmer

Easy to assemble, quick to charge and it did all the edging of my 1.5 acre lot in one go. This trimmer went through stuff my old gas powered one wouldn't. It is so much lighter and easier to handle than the gas model.

Q: I have an older 40V Greenworks cordless lawn mower. Are these the same batteries? I have a 4 or 5 year old Greenworks cordless lawn mower that uses 40V Lithium ion batteries (model 29282). It looks like the same battery, but, I'd want to know for sure that they'd be interchangeable before buying this trimmer. Assuming the batteries are interchangeable, would the chargers for both be the same?
