I can't believe it.

I have a Yardworks package, including chainsaw, hedge trimmer, and weedeater, sitting in my basement. I'm decluttering, these tools bring back bad memories. I used them one season, before the battery died, and rendered about $500. worth of yard implements useless. By that time, the battery was obsolete. What kind of garbage is this???? I could replace it for $130. from yardworks directly. No guarentees. Could you please tell me where the recycling depot for Canadian Tires yardworks products is, in my area??? They must make a killing.

The battery only lasts one year, despite limited use. And a replacement battery costs as much as a decent full weed trimmer of another brand - including the battery.

I'll never buy another Yardworks product.

Bought the pole saw and hedge trimmer that use this battery. Loved them.....till the battery died. Ya, the battery is way expensive, but I was willing to replace it so I could continue to use the tools. Ya right! Try to find one! Local store says their discontinued. Closest store online I can find that has one is 8 hours away. Local store says they can't get it from another store. Tools are now useless! Never buying Yardworks again!
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Did that. The girl that answered at first did not believe the battery was a Yardworks part, could not find any documentation for it. Finally said no longer made, yardworks could not help me at all. No replacement battery made. So all the Yardworks tools for this battery are now junk.

A: To remove the battery: 1. Slide the latch button on the battery pack down and hold. 2. Grasp the trigger handle firmly. Pull the battery pack out of the handle. NOTE: The battery pack fits snugly into the handle to prevent accidental dislodging. It may require a strong pull to remove. A: Please call the Yardworks toll free helpline at 1-866-523-5218 for assistance. There are only 2 batteries that fit this style 60-2181, 6Ah battery, and 60-2295, 2.6Ah battery

Q: What are the charging instructions for the yardworks 20 volt lithium battery 060-2181-2.. I just bought the battery 060-2181-2 but the owners manual has no charging instructions.

A: you can contact Yardworks by calling the toll-free helpline at 1-866-523-5218. they can send you a copy. The battery is not shipped fully charged. It is recommended to fully charge before first use to ensure that maximum run time can be achieved. This lithium-ion battery will not develop a memory and may be charged at any time. A fully discharged battery pack will require approximately 4.5 hours to fully charge. 1. Plug the charger into an AC wall outlet/receptacle. 2. The RED LED power indicator (1) will illuminate. 3. Insert the battery into the charger. Verify that the battery is fully inserted into the charger. 4. The RED LED indicator (3) will illuminate indicating that the battery is in CHARGE MODE. 5. Once the battery has reached a full charge level, the LED indicator (3) will switch from RED to GREEN. 6. The battery may be removed or stored in the charger once it is fully charged; however, it is recommended to disconnect the plug from the wall outlet/receptacle.

Q: Have the Yardwork Battery 60-2181-2 gotten any better? I have read the reviews and 90% of the reviews are sending a very loud message to stay clear of this product and batteries. Have you heard if they have improved this battery?

A: The batteries vary on how the customer takes care of the battery during the off season. We have charging procedures in our manual that if followed properly the battery will have a good life span. As for the batteries, they are the same.

Q: What is the difference between this and the $30 cheaper 60-2295-2 battery? Both seem to be Yardworks 20v replacement batteries with the same connections.

A: 60-2181 is a 20 volt li-ion battery but it has 6amp hours whereas 60-2295 is also a 20 volt li-ion battery but it only has 2.6 amp hours. The 6 amp hour battery will last longer and is more powerful than the 2.6 amp hour battery.

Q: I need to replace this battery I bought a Yardworks grass trimmer a year ago. Someone kept the trimmer's battery on the deck, and I found that it was out of order today. I think heat from the sun killed the battery. I want to know its warranty condition and where I can replace it.
