Great electric chipper

This exceeded my expectations. I was able to quickly chip a number of maple branches in no time and the mulch is nice a fine. I did not have any trouble with it jamming at all, and if you take off the wheels quickly, the legs swing up on either side and the bin fits right over top so it is easy to store even in a small space. The only issue I think people have is with trying to shred vegetable plants like kale stocks, especially if they are still green. I've used them to break down dried up tomato stalks and other fully dried stalks and that worked well.

The opening is smaller than a mail slot. Never even tried it before taking it back. Imagine how efficient it would be. NOT!

Hole to put garden wast very small and limited. Would only be able to put in 1 straight branch at a time.

Lousy shredder - don't buy

This is a lousy shredder -- it jammed frequently and is hard to clear, would not shred garden trimmings like gladiola leaves. Returned it for refund after trying it for one day.

- A: Yes, as long as the garden/yard waste has been dried out a bit, it works great for small yard waste. Its very loud though and may spit a few pieces of waste back out at you, best to wear protective eyewear, ear plugs and gloves.2 years agoHelpful?

Q: will it shred freshly cut branches from a cedar hedge about 1.5 inches thick ?

- A: 1.5 inches is the maximum diameter you can fit through it so I would say no. It would definitely struggle with a branch that size. The biggest I’ve used it for is sunflower stalks, which it shred easily but that is nothing like solid wood.3 years agoHelpful?

- A: Yes. Shrub and small tree branches work fine, but the drier the pieces are, the easier they are to process. I use mine for thorny Goji branches all the time. As many others have said: this easily clogs when shredding moist material, no matter how you do it.3 years agoHelpful?

- A: Don't know about kitchen scraps. But when I was using it for branches of Western red cedar, I notice the blades get stuck more often when doing softer wetter leaves as oppose to chopping up firm dry finger thick woody twigs.4 years agoHelpful?
