This hose does not even come close to the 50’ stretch it claims to have. It has such small diameter housing that the water comes out with the pressure equivalent of a 90 year old man trying to take a leak. Total waste of money

Q: Does it expand on use and automatically contracts on turning off the water?

A: Yes it does. Make sure your nozzle is still open to drain all the water in the hose after shutting the water off. When turning the water on, It will not expand if the nozzle is open. Let the hose expand naturally then turn your nozzle on.

A: I suspect that a 50 ft. hose means that it is 50 ft. when expanded. If you want 100 ft., you would need to buy a 100 ft. hose. They are making them better than they used to. I have had hoses that barely made it through one season, but my latest 100 ft. hose is into it's 4th year and still going strong. Good luck.

Q: Can it be used as a fresh water supply hose for an RV?

A: This is an expandable garden hose. It shrinks when there is no water pressure and expands when there is pressure. If you're just using it to fill the RV and then storing the hose away I'd say yes. If you plan to leave the hose hooked up to the RV that's not the proper function of this hose.

Q: I love my (blue) xhose but the stupid plastic shut off valves stop working after a month or two. Does anyone think this is fixed with this newer "brass fittings" on the black Dac-5???
