It snaps right into place without the need of additional tools. Just power down the trimmer (remove the batteries), flip it over, and pop it on. Precisely calibrated to keep your string trimmer line protected and securely in place, which contributes to the overall performance of your trimmer. This is a very solid piece, used to replace a ridiculously fragile piece on a Yardworks weed wacker that broke after minor usage and Yardworks does not provide ANY replacement. This one fits perfectly and hopefully will last.
