The WORX 20V MAKER X Wood and Metal Crafter Tool is a compact, easy-to-use tool for detailed work. It heats up in 30 seconds and can reach temperatures from 400° to 900 °F, making it ideal for wood, soldering, and metal crafting projects. This tool is part of the MAKERX series and uses a rechargeable 20V Power Share battery, which is compatible with all WORX 20V and 40V tools. The package includes 9 wood-burning and 1 soldering tip for various applications. The tool is also equipped with a 4' long cord for easy maneuvering. The Hub and battery are not included.

WORX 20V MAKER X Wood and Metal Crafter Tool features a nearly instant 30-second target heat, and burns as hot as a full-size iron, but in a size that’s much easier to use for detail work

The tools are great to have when you need them quickly and get the job done quickly. The grinder is sweet and did a great job polishing my gun, cutting smaller bolts to sharpening my knives. The heat gun is great for soldering wires together and gets in tight places. Wood burning, melting and shaping plastic. To heating up stubborn nuts and bolts. It’s awesome without having to untangle and have an extension cord always in they way or getting caught and stuck. I have a whole arsenal of Worx tools and they are strong, tough, durable and very dependable. Great products! Highly recommend!

A: No, they do not work, I purchased this combo unit after reading the battery does work and they have different guides on the battery so I guess I am stuck with the Markx unit with 1 battery and cannot use my spare 2 batteries

Q: The tip that is on the crafting tool is that a spacer or is that the woodburning tip or possibly a soldery tip?

A: Fyi, the tip on the crafting tip that I think you're talking about is a spacer/fastener. On the inside, there is a ceramic rod that transfers heat which should not be directly applied to any working surfaces (so that you don't get residue build-up. The outer silver part in the image is the outer sleeve that is used to hold any tips in place. It might heat up a bit, but I wouldn't reccomend using it for wood burning or soldering, as it doesn't make direct contact with the ceramic heater, so it would likely be much less hot than your temperature settings indicate

Q: Can this MakerX rotary tool be used to cut thin sheet metal? I have a large piece of sheet metal that I'd like to cut into smaller projects/shapes and wondered if this could be used for that.

A: Hello there! Thank you for your inquiry. The WORX 20V MAKERX Rotary Tool can cut thin sheet metal when equipped with a metal cut‑off wheel (such as reinforced cut‑off discs). It works well for light‑gauge materials like aluminum, tin, thin steel, or HVAC sheet metal—typically up to about 20–22 gauge. However, it is not intended for thick steel, structural metal, or long straight production cuts. Because it’s a rotary tool, cutting metal should be done slowly, in short passes, and with proper safety gear (eye protection is a must). For thicker metal or faster, straighter cuts, a dedicated metal‑cutting tool (like an angle grinder or shear) would be a better choice. Thank you for choosing WORX!

A: SLP stands for sleep mode. When the tool is not used for a while it enters sleep mode and turns the heat off as a safety measure. When the user picks up the tool again it will begin to reheat. The user would need to press the power button to fully power off the tool.
