Workpro's steel wool pads are suitable for numerous home tasks. The heavy duty construction smoothes surfaces before applying the final coat of lacquer or shellac, buffs furniture wax to a high shine, or puts a matte finish on gloss paint. The assorted pack includes pads of coarse, medium and fine grades - 5 of each - for a variety of applications. From sanding wood finishes to scouring pots and pans, these steel wool pads make light work of tough jobs around the house.

Q: Is this product made from actual steel instead of iron? I need steel wool to plug holes to keep rodents out of the house. Iron quickly rusts in my experience.

A: All steel wool rusts over time when exposed to moisture air / water Most DIY applications for rodents recommend changing out the steel wool after 2-3 months so that should help to avoid any rust concerns . It usually becomes chewed or tends to gather dust debris before the rust takes over
