Do not buy if you want more than 5 uses

The straw is good (flow rate is slow and can dribble) but the bag is atrocious. It broke after about 5 uses at the seam. It also only contains about 50ml so not good.

Okay but awful, awful flow rate

Used it on my hike on the Brazeau trail and it was terrible. The flow rate was basically a dribble and I would often just use my friend's Sawyer squeeze.

I would recommend this kit for people on a budget IF it came with a better bag. The bag seam broke after filling only 5 large water bottles. Without the bag you cannot filter water into your bottles or water bag because there has to be a tight seal that is compatible with the filter. The filter itself still works for drinking directly from the water source, but when drinking from it there is a lot of air sucked up with the water. I recommend getting a better quality filtration kit.

Q: Can you use the straw to fill filtered water into a container or do you always use the straw to suck out the filtered water.

A: You can do both. If you try to connect the straw with foldable water bag which was filled with water, then you can squeeze the bag to make clean water go into a container. You can also suck out the water directly.

Q: How will I know when the straw reaches the end of its useful life?

A: The flow rate of straw will decrease, and then stop pulling water through once it reaches the end of its life. We can increase the lifespan by cleaning the straw by flushing the filter with the dedicated back flush device after each use.

A: Thanks for your question. The filter can't be replaced. We don't sell the same filters separate. But it come with a back wash device.

Q: I checked the Woods website but this item is not listed How does it remove bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, and E.coli, and protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium?

A: The pore size of UF membrane inside is so small, which can block the bacteria and cysts out effectively.
