Manufacturers defect

I bought this unit before the pandemic, went to use it and one of the arms was installed backwards making the unit useless. I tried to return it and they referred to their non flexible 7 day return policy. Buyer beware of manufacturers defects not supported by Canadian Tire.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Has potential but not sturdy

First of all, this tent is quite easy to set up. I'm a 5'2" woman and can set this up alone. Some of the buttons that need to be depressed to extend the poles stick a bit, but once opened, it's easy to set up. There is a major design flaw with the top plastic piece on the roof where all the poles are connected. The poles to not click into place and despite careful placement of poles in a perfect square position and setting up the guy lines, the tent poles tend to rotate and the tent twists around. If you are on perfectly flat ground, maybe it works. But in a normal campground scenario on gravel with a slight grade, it's frustrating to have a tent that is constantly twisting and falling over. I bit the bullet and just purchased a far superior product from an outdoor store and will no longer use this tent.

Ripped on first attempt to set it up...

Ripped on first attempt to set it up in the yard a few days before we left for camping. Very disappointed. Mesh and nylon is very thin, they both ripped. I can see why many customers only gave it 1 star :(

No, I do not recommend this product.

Cheaply made and was already a used product!

Purchased about 3 weeks ago. Put it up in the backyard yesterday (should've done it within 7 days I guess). Had trouble with instructions until we realized the canopy(which was already attatched) was on the wrong side and upside down. Took it all apart and started from scratch and the instructions made more sense, but there is a fist sized hole in the screen, so it was obviously used. Then a thunderstorm overnight flattened it. The stress points are not double sewn, so the top center tie string and one of the upper corner tie down straps ripped out (I sewed those back on). Also one top pole bent by centerpiece. Our yard is somewhat sheltered, so super disgusted with this product! Poor quality.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Is there a way to lock the joints? Mine sways in the wind quite a bit even with the guides tightened and lengthened.

1 Answer
  • A: There is no way to lock these joints into place, however it is recommended to stakes down the entire perimeter of the shelter and the guy lines to ensure stability. It is also recommended to place a corner of the shelter towards the wind to lessen the area in which the wind can hit your shelter. Hope this helps!
