I run a hammer drill with an 8 inch ice auger. Was so happy to get this as it was difficult to hold the drill when it wants to kick back. This makes drilling holes super easy!

Save your shoulder and buy this adapter

Very well built tool and worked perfectly. My Mastercraft 20V Drill was not happy trying to cut through 30 inches of ice though, I pushed it to far and it ended up catching on fire. Make sure you have a high torque drill (750 In-Lbs miniumm) and you will have no problems. I Bought a Milwaukee Fuel (1400 In-Lbs) and cut through in less than 10 seconds. This handle really helps keep this stable for drilling.

Q: I only have an 18v drill. Do I really need a high-torque drill?

A: If you don't have a higer torque drill, there is a good chance you will burn it up very quickly. My 420 In-lb Mastercraft newer drill burned up. I heard from another reviewer that your drill should be at least 750 In-Lbs. I replaced mine with a 1400 In-lb Milwauke Feul and cut through 30 inches of ice in about 5 seconds. Even with the cost of the Fuel Drill and this attachment its cheaper than buying a dedicated power auger plus I have an awesome drill to use for other stuff.

Q: Will this fit into a Jiffy Torch Auger - getting tired of the drill twisting and trying to break my wrist as I'm about to break through the ice.

A: The big handle will prevent it from going down the hole. You don’t need a plate like other drill augers.

A: There is an oilless bearing installed at both ends of the adapter shaft.
