Best cooler we've had

No information on the cooler, hard to find reviews about it. But by using blocks and chipped ice as well as frozen food, everything was cold into a 2 week camp. I dug a beer out of it at around the 17 day mark (there were 2 cans left) after cutting the lawn and it was still cold though the ice was gone by that point. Its big, heavy, and you need a wagon to move it by yourself (woods makes those too) but 100% worth it. The only ice i had to buy was for the two coleman coers we had with us too.

We go interior camping in Northern Ontario. The kids have gotten bigger so instead of a canoe we now use a fishing boat to go deep into the park to our campsite. The size and weight of our equipment is no longer a concern. Trying to find those two perfect trees to hang your food in nature is very rare occurrence, let alone to safely climb it high enough to run a rope. By morning the trees have sagged and your food is easily in reach of bears. Bear boxes aren’t always supplied, and it is a 4 1/2 hour round trip to the nearest grocery store to resupply. Hanging food from trees is an outdated method, as it has an extremely high failure rate. Now many places, especially with grizzlies, won’t allow you to camp without bear certified containers. We purchased two, on sale, of the 75 litre coolers because they’re bear certified. Just because they’re bear certified doesn’t mean you get to become lazy, you still need to practice proper behaviour in bear country. One is going to be for perishable food, the other for drinks and dry food. I was going to make metal boxes for our coolers but for the price on sale these are worth it. It may seem like a lot to spend on a cookie storage unit, but the time you waste hauling 5 people food up in a tree to return from fishing and find it’s sagged 2 feet is money well spent. These are well built solid heavy coolers and the interior light is amazing and makes you wonder how you lived without one. I guess for their price they’d better be. We leave for our trip to bear country in a month that will be our true test of these coolers. I very excited to have them as part of my kit. Especially to have a full size cooler and the convenience of locking them and leaving them chained to a tree on the ground. Camping doesn’t mean you have to act like you’re homeless and can be very comfortable with the right equipment. Get out there and make lifetime memories with your kids.
