Bought on sale because needed a lantern and as a parent who has a kid who drains flashlights constantly this is amazing. Would buy more

Unreliable

It worked well after I bought it. Then after one month in storage I pulled it out and charged it for another camping trip, it indicated that it took a full charge but the light never worked again. Returning today.

Garbage

I bought this yesterday, wouldn’t charge after seven hours plugged in. Light would work when plugged in but would stop when unplugged. I foolishly didn’t keep the box or bill. Took out the battery....dated 2017, sitting on shelf for three years??? Threw it in the garbage.

It makes a good amount of light, but it's not pleasant light

The light this lantern produces is fairly bright and evenly distributed, it will light the interior of a small cabin bright enough to see what you're doing. If all you care about is being able to see in the dark using solar power, it does that.
The light it produces is not pleasant though, it's an extremely cold, blue light with flicker. It's done for efficiency, blue light scatters more than other colors, so it takes less of it to see, and the flicker means the light is only on part of the time, so the battery lasts much longer than it would otherwise. But it is not nice to be around. It makes me feel mildly queasy, I've heard other people complain of headaches, and blue light is known to keep you awake because it inhibits production of melatonin.
So I guess it's a question of priorities. Having a lantern which charges in the sun is really great, but you might not like the compromises which make that possible. I'd say if you just want a light to get you to the outhouse it's probably fine, but if you want to sit around playing cards all night I wouldn't recommend it.

Q: I turned it on and charged it fully, but now it will not turn off. It stays on until it is drained of power. The switch only goes from different light levels.
