    Not as expected

This product uses 2 C-type batteries in the main unit which are no longer easily available. Plus the volume cannot be adjusted any higher. Had I known I would probably get the plug in model instead!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Functions well enough. Only one sound I like on 3 sounds, so a bit limited. Good price.

To echo the other 1 star reviews, this product is garbage. Bought it this spring and it has totally died. Tried replacing batteries to no avail. So quiet it is useless.

Q: So... both the ringer and the button take batteries then? What Kind?

    • A: No, only the button needs batteries, on the RC3130R that we have. it takes 2 batteries, Sony CR2032 3 volt coin cells, pretty common, cheap. The base unit, or chime, plugs in to a wall outlet or extension cord.

Q: Does it work in cold weather? I live in Winnipeg, the last door bell I bought at Canadian Tire doesn't work on real cold days, does this one?

    1 Answer
    • A: This door chime uses Lithium batteries which are generally operational to -40C. Lithium batteries also have about twice the life of alkaline batteries. This product will work better in cold weather.
