Good quality but doesn't fit Ontario plates

Over these plate covers are good quality. They are far more expensive than other plate covers. The problem is they don't fully fit Ontario license plates so a few millimeters stick out of one side once installed and therefore there isn't a tight seal around it.

Water tight?

Not sure what version of water tight this overpriced plate holder is supposed to be but don’t waste your money. I mounted it as instructed and the first time I washed the truck it was all wet and fogged up behind the cover. Total fail.

No protection for the cost

I’m thinking that the plate would have a seal to protect the plate from the elements but my personalized plates didn’t fit inside of the seal that was on the cover.

Hey there. The ClearCover license plate cover is designed for the rubber gasket to seal to the license plate. This seal is watertight and will protect your plates from weather and sunlight. There can be a small (<1/8") edge of the license plate left outside.

Q: I purchased 2 of these covers but can’t seem to fit my Personalized Ontario plates into the gasket seal. The plates seem too large. Should they not fit Ontario plates or is there a special process to install them?

A: Hi Oliver, License plates across North America have slightly varying sizes, so the ClearCover doesn't always fit perfectly. With Ontario plates there is sometimes a small discrepancy, but so long as the ClearCover's rubber gasket seals to the surface then your personalized plate will remain protected.
