Bought this because we had purchased one previously for camping, having realized that we were too old to sleep on thin mattress pads. The first one we bought was excellent. Its light, not too bulky, self inflates quickly and offers enough padding that my 55yr old frame can sleep on the ground quite happily. We purchased a second one because we now needed 2 since my wife didn't want to share hers, but they have changed the valve. The first one had 2 valves, with the first being a one way for inflation and the second for full deflation. This version now has only one valve, with a small rubber plug that you remove for inflation then replace to keep it inflated. I can see losing this small piece of rubber easily (it is bright yellow) then the mattress is useless. Would rate 5 out of 5 except for this change.

Our expectations were exceeded with this product. previously, we had a lot of challenges with inflatable mattresses, and the fact that this self inflated was a real selling point. In practice, it is very comfortable for those who have used it and extremely simple to maintain some of the people sleeping on. It are fairly heavy and find it quite comfortable so even though it is fairly thin, it does the job very well. We have two of them and are very satisfied with the purchase.

Works very well, was surprised how quickly it inflated. Needed a half dozen puffs of air extra initially for required firmness. The 2nd night a few more. Possible some initial stretching occurred. Spent the next 7 nights on it. No leaks, no further stretching.its awesome

Best mattress!

I bought it a few years ago full price and it's much much more comfortable than an air mattress. We used it when we visit and for an additional bed at the hotel for our kids. It's perfect for camping too. Just bought two more on sale. I also have the double one, but it's not as compfy but very similar. Never had any issue with inflatable or deflate. It takes a little bit of space but well worth it for a good night of sleep.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How long should this pad take to inflate? I've had it open for over an hour and it's still flat. Both valves are open.

  • A: The valves are made up of 2 parts. To have them self-inflate, you must screw on the first part of the valve, (the part nearest the matress), and leave the second part of the valves open. The first time you let it inflate, it will take long, like 30 minutes. After that first time, it will be faster to self-inflate, like 5 minutes. you might still need to blow air in it a couple of blows. To deflate the matress, you need to open up the 2 parts of the valves. Even then, it is very hard to roll up. Even so, it is my FAVORITE mattress. SO comfortable. So much BETTER than just an air matress. This is made of an inside of foam and air.

  • A: It is not recommended to blow into the valve, as air from your lungs would have moisture which can cause mold growth within the mat.
