A Must-Have for Campfire Cooking

ve had this pie iron for a couple camping seasons now and it has become a permanent part of our campfire setup. It’s built solid with the cast iron construction and cooks evenly over the fire once it heats up. We’ve used it for everything from grilled sandwiches and pizza pockets to breakfast wraps, and it always turns out great. The long handle keeps you a safe distance from the fire, and the cast iron holds heat really well which makes cooking easy once you get the timing down. It’s definitely on the heavier side, but that’s expected with cast iron and honestly helps it feel durable and dependable around the campsite. Other campers online mention the same strengths — great heat retention and versatility for campfire cooking. One thing I’d recommend is giving it a light oiling after use to keep the cast iron in good shape and prevent rust over time. I’ve also found the latch can loosen a bit after lots of use, but nothing major. Overall, this has been a great campfire cooking tool and one of those pieces of gear that keeps getting packed for every trip. If you enjoy cooking over the fire, it’s absolutely worth having.

Doesn’t “seal” the bread

This product didn’t actually “crimp” the bread like the single version does, so it doesn’t create a “pocket” whereby the filling stays inside.
