I purchased this item for my new home construction to ensure I would be alarmed if my sump pump didn't start... Sure enough, yesterday the float on my sump pump didn't trigger, but neither did the float on this alarm. Both floats had the same problem, slow rise water did not create a hard enough contact in the float to trigger the start. You can actually take the float and slowly move it to vertical and the alarm won't go off. Wish I would of kept box and receipt. Not satisfied in any way shape or form about this product.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: No, only the float switch is water proof. The unit itself is not.

A: 062-4108 water level alarm does not have a battery backup. We sell a sump pump with a battery back-up sump pump together or a battery backup sump pump by itself that needs to be installed with a pre-existing sump pump but we do not sell an alarm with battery back up capabilities.

A: The alarm makes a sound of 98 db at 4’. It is very loud.
