I bought this one sale yesterday because the flame looked realistic but I am going to take it back today because its just way too loud. I placed it on top of a table and it made a big scrape in my table also. The quality seems good but the performance is not acceptable,

Noisy fireplace

No assembly required other than putting batteries in the remote. By the way, the manual says 2 AA were needed, but in reality, 2AAA batteries were needed.
Once plugged, it works fine except for the loud fan noise. I placed it in my room but the continuous fan sound turns me off and will disrupt my sleep so I will have to shut it off. Bummer, because I wanted my room to be cozy. Even without the heating setting, it still makes noise, so I do not recommend it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: On/off I plug it in, turn the on/off to ON on lower right, and then turn on the ON on left, even with the remote.... Not a peep from it. I think I have a defective one. Or is there a secret lock somewhere?
