multiple product failures - poor quality

The first 130 worked for ~3 minutes then failed despite cleaning the entire device and resetting all the components. Returned that and bought second. After about 25 minutes, the nozzle and spray tip blew out on to the wall (broke). Took that back and onto my third sprayer. If this fails, I am trying another brand. I've had good luck with Wagner in the past but the quality has deteriorated

Great for DIY

I had a smaller Wagner that worked great for a few years. I abused it and thought it was time to upgrade so that I can better paint ceilings. So, I bought this and I don't regret it. What a fantastic tool and a game changer when you want to accomplish a job quickly with great results. I'm not a pro, just a landlord and quick turn around is essential. Easy to use and operate. I anticipate this lasting many years with proper care!

I bought the pro 130 last summer to paint/stain a fence. Being that I live on a corner its a rather large project to stain. In the past I paid someone else and I stained it by hand once and promised myself to never do that again. The pro 130 cut my time down immensely. Once I was finished I regretted not purchasing it sooner. Painting it by hand it took me a couple of days, with the pro 130 it took me 3 1/2 hours. I absolutely loved it. Its very important to cleacp61n it properly for the next use. Must follow the directions they provide. I look forward to using it again

Cuts staining time dramatically!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was used to apply a second coat of stain to the lattice surrounding my new pool deck. The first coat had previously been applied using the Wagner Control Stainer 350, which was a good sprayer, but not adequate for such a large job. It seemed we were constantly stopping to refill the 1.5 quart container. The 1.5 gallon tank on the Control Pro 130 allowed us to cut the application time dramatically. Less time spent on refilling, and also less wrist fatigue from having the stain container built into the sprayer. The 25 ft. hose meant we could complete two sides before having to move to get to the other two sides. The sprayer was easy to handle and sprayed evenly with minimal runs. I did have some difficulty getting it to spray initially, but after reviewing the operating instructions, I learned that the pump must be primed prior to use. Be sure to follow the instructions, both for set-up and operation. Since we used water based stain, clean-up was a breeze. Flushed the system with water and easily disassembled the sprayer for easy cleaning. Task was completed and cleaned in just under three hours. First coat took all day. I was very pleased with the product.

Super easy to set up, use and clean!

I had started painting my shed with rollers and brushes. A friend suggested I look at this sprayer. I spent 2 days brushing the grooves in the siding. then it only took about 45 minutes total spraying to finish priming. in all, I think I have about 3 hours of spraying to finish painting my shed!

Q: Can this be used to spray Red oxide primer & rust paint? (Tremclad, Rustoleum, Krylon) If so, does it require thinning?

A: Depends on the spray tip you choose. I used it for sold stain on a fense, the typical stain tip had too small of an opening to not clog repeatedly, if the rust paint is thin the stain tip may be fine, but it will clog if you try to use too small of a tip.

A: That's fine except for the salt. Salt is very corrosive and we do not suggest putting it through the machine.

Q: Is this unit supposed to come with the Inlet Filter? I just bought the sprayer and taking it fresh out of the box and there is no Inlet Filter included.

A: I used mine just out off the box’s but I did use. Filter cloth over the sprayer before I pour the paint in that work just grate hope this helps you out

A: No only comes with one nozzle but you can get other nozzles for it. I bet it would spray stain though. The paint i used was very thick and went threw very easy.

Q: Can I use this paint sprayer to apply Thompson Waterseal - clear wood sealer on an exterior wooden fence ? Also , how do I clean up the connecting hose, and how much paint cleaner solvent is needed for each clean-up?

A: Yes you can easily spray water seal with the Control Pro 130 and the included 515 tip. A smaller tip might be preferable in order to control the amount of application. Check with Thompson's tech for the proper airless sprayer tip size. If you're using water based products, clean up is easy with a garden hose. If you're using oil-based products you should have two gallons of mineral spirits on hand, just in case. But you can clean the entire kit with less than a gallon.

Q: I am going to be finishing the interior of a log home with Benjamin Moore Stays Clear acrylic polyurethane. It requires 1500 - 2000 psi and a tip size of .011-.015. Is it a good idea to spray polyurethane? Can this sprayer handle this product?

A: Yes, this is the perfect sprayer for your project. Less overspray than traditional airless tools and it still gets the job done fast. Make sure to cover or remove anything you don't want polyurethane on. Good luck with your project.
