WA:KE Athletic Adjustable Wrist/Ankle Weight, 5-lb, 2-pc

I was very excited to receive these weights. You get 2 weights, one for each ankle or wrist, and each weight comes with 5 1 lb bagged weights that can be added or removed as desired. I love that you can adjust the weight, and they can be used for both ankles and wrists. Once on, they attach very well with two velcro straps. I did find them to be slightly too bulky for my wrists, but I love using them around my ankles while walking.

These ankle weights definitely elevated my workout! The extra-long adjustable velcro closure helps to maintain a snug fit around your ankles or wrists and keeps them in place as you exercise. Each weight comes with 5 pockets with individual single pound bags filled with sand that are removable. I like how you can adjust the weights to be lighter or heavier, depending on your workout, which is perfect for a beginner like me. I found the weights to be a bit bulky around my ankles and wrists with all 5lbs, so I tended to stick to 3lbs by removing two of the bags. It’s definitely a neat feature to have the option of switching between different weight options to allow you to gradually increase the resistance of your workout. The nylon material of the weight band isn’t as comfortable as I’d hoped. I would recommend wearing overtop of clothing for a more comfortable feel. I found them to be a bit too bulky to wear on my wrists so used primarily as ankle weights. The bands themselves are not very stylish compared to other wrist/ankle weights I’ve seen, but they definitely made my simple leg lift exercises feel a lot more challenging! For under 20$ Canadian for the pair, I would recommend for anyone looking for a more challenging fitness routine.

These weights are so awkward and bulky to use. In theory, the removable iron sand is useful but the quality is subpar and the whole things just ends up not fitting any ankle or wrist properly. It’s very difficult to use.

I like versatility when I work out, so having adjustable weights is great! That's why I was happy to try WA:KE Adjustable Ankle/Wrist weights for free from WA:KE and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. As I get older, I know it's important to maintain muscle mass because we loss muscle at a faster rate the more we age. I don't necessarily like to bulk up, I like long lean muscles, so having the option of dropping a pound or adding a pound is great depending on the exercise I am doing. WA:KE's Athletic Wrist and Ankle Weights come in a pair with each weight ranging from 1 to 5 lbs (0.45 to 2.27 kg). Each of the individual nylon weights fit securely into a pocket, so they stay put. The adjustable strap is supposed to ensure a perfect fit on either your wrist or ankle. However, I was quite disappointed with the velcro adjustment. I would say that I have average ankle thickness and the only time I could get a secure fit was by using 4 lbs or more, so the weight adjustability kinda went out the window at that point! If I wanted to use just one pound, the ankle weight would be too loose and the fabric would rub against my ankle when walking. I definitely could not run with them on. Even with having 4 or 5 lbs and a secure fit, the size of the ankle weights trip me. There is absolutely no way even with five pounds that I could ever fit this on my wrist with the velcro adjustment feature. Due to the ankle/wrist weights being rather bulky, wearing them discreetly while going for a walk would not be an option. Overall, I would not purchase this product because it can not be adjusted as advertised and is way too bulky.
