I bought this to replace a Sunbeam Egg Cooker I owned in Australia and this one did not work as well. The egg piercer was not as fine and caused the eggs to crack, there was no buzzer/alert sound to indicate when the eggs were finished cooking and the colour was ivory, not white as shown on the box. I returned it.

Best hard boiled eggs ever

I bought this on sale to make small batches of hard boiled eggs less cumbersome. My first batch was a bit overdone so I adjusted the water amount and ... they're perfect. I thought it had a sound when it was done, but I haven't heard mine, unless it's faulty... I do wish there was a sound so I could get them in the ice bath right away. If you want small batches of egg with little to no clean up, this is worth it.
