    Victor Tire Rubber Cement

I used this to repair two inner tubes that were no longer holding air. The tires were from a brush chipper. The key to getting a good result is not to use too much cement on the inner tube. Just put enough on so that when spread it forms an even thin coat over an area larger than the area of the patch you are going to use. Let it dry. It dries fast so this step does not take long. You don't need to put cement on the patch. Just apply cement to the inner tube. Once it is dry, apply a proper patch. Most patches have a thin plastic film over one side. This is to keep the surface clean. Pull off the plastic, stick that face to the dry cement and massage it into place with a finger. Once this is done, the tube will be able to hold full operating air pressure immediately. To find an air leak, either spray the inner tube with a weak solution of dish soap and water, or dunk the entire inner tube in water. Pump a bit of pressure into the inner tube and follow the little bubbles back to the source of the leak.

My mother had a nail in her tire, so I purchased the rubber cement along with a tire plug repair kit. The rubber cement allows you to not only insert the plug easier into the puncture area of the tire, but also provide a excellent deal once it has dried making sure the tire no longer leaks. Personally, I find the rubber cement essential when doing tire repairs.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Will this adhere Rubber to Acrylic? I need to glue a rubber sheet to an acrylic surface. Does anyone know if this will adhere to both?

    1 Answer
    • A: Unfortunately, the rubber cement will not adhere rubber to an acrylic surface as it is meant to vulcanize one piece of rubber to another rubber surface.
