Rat trap

I applied peanut butter and checked the next day to see the results. Peanut butter was all gone and trap did not trigger. I did it again and same result. I have used this trap in the past and I’m disappointed with the current one. It is less than a month that I purchased it. Please advise.

Good but not Great

Easy to load bait. Easy to set. However, after trying three times, the rat outsmarted the trap and ate the bait. Of course, it's not unusual for rats to have this talent, but I was hoping that this trap would be more effective.

We’re sorry to hear the Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap did not work as expected. For best results, place the trap along a wall or in areas where mouse activity has been noticed, as mice typically travel along edges rather than open spaces. A small amount of peanut butter placed in the bait cup can help attract them, and it may take a little time for mice to become comfortable approaching a new object in their environment.

Q: Can a mouse trigger the rat trap or is it too light? Twice the bait (cheese) was eaten but the trap did not trigger. Can you explain this?

A: Check online. You tube videos. Apparently you can fine tune the trigger to make it more sensitive. And tie the trap down. Big rats can drag the trap away.
