Works but will the plastic bait plate last?

They do work, but I don’t think they will have the longevity of the older model that had a metal bait plate. The new ones make it out of plastic so that will probably eventually deteriorate.

The trigger mechanism need to be adjusted better .

Your Victor mouse trap is fine but i think the trigger mechanism is not adjusted properly until you bend the the tip of the hook is bent up slightly.

Q: Is this rat trap large enough to kill a squirrel

  • A: I killed a couple of squirrels with the rat trap. I needed to cut a couple of inches of a 750ml soda bottle to make an arch that blocks the side of the spring and forces the squirrel to come in straight on. The arch needs to be high enough to allow the spring to clear.

  • A: No the hole is to small for a squirrel to fit. Try Victors Quick Set Quick Kill snap traps or rat traps.

Q: I have a rodent in my house, only saw it for a split second, not sure what it is. Will this trap kill smaller rodents as well? I don't want to set mouse traps in case I have a rat. Are rat traps my best bet in this situation?

    A: This trap may kill smaller rodents however, depending on the size of the rodent, it may not be enough to set off the trap.

Q: I have squirrels and a rat. I just purchased the rat trap. Scared to set it :( , however I don’t want the squirrels to get hurt. You say they eat with their paws? I just want to make sure  that is true. Thanks
