I use this type of paint on anything that gets very hot. The quality is very good and covers well. It also works well on other materials. I have used it on all types of metal with success.

Q: This product comes in more than one colour and the actual colour is not stated. The lid look dark grey but it is hard to say. I want flat black and I cannot find it on this site. Please improve your site information

Q: Can this product be used on the exterior of a BBQ lid. I am looking for a high paint in grey to paint the side castings of the lid.

A: High heat can be used on the exterior of a wood burning stove providing the component the paint is being applied to is metal.

Q: Can this be used on exhaust pipe? Do I need to treat the rusted part first with rust converter before applying this product?

A: The VHT Flameproof can be used on exhaust pipes, however the rust would need to be more or less sanded to remove. Rust Converter isn't high temp and would not be recommended on exhaust pipes.

Q: Can this be used on brake calipers,drums and rotors?

A: We would not recommend that product for this particular use as it has to be heat cured at a temperature of 650F/343C and the brake components are not going to get that hot. Using a Caliper Paint would be a better option for brake components. Product 047-7583, Aluminum Caliper Paint would work well.
