Product Details
The VersaChem® Exhaust System Repair Kit provides a permanent solution for holes, leaks and cracks in mufflers, exhaust pipes and catalytic converters. Capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1093°C, it can repair cracks and holes up to 6” long and 3” in diameter. This fast-curing kit includes a putty pouch (56g), bandage (2” x 42”), support wire (40”), reinforcing screen (3” x 6”) and an instruction sheet. Once activated, the bandage forms a hard, protective shield. Additionally, it is ideal for cars, light trucks and RVs.

Questions
Q: I need this for a couple off weeks it’s leaking where my exhaust comes and meats the head pipe but I will need to get it off. Will I be able to take this stuff off without any issues?
4 years agoA: I used it and it didnt last more than a few days. Maybe use a soup can cut down the middle and some hose clamps instead

11 years agoA: Versachem Exhaust System Repair Kit (38-3758) is suitable to repair a hole in a snowmobile exhaust pipe. Aesthetically, the repair will likely be visible once cured.

Q: Is this a tape repair system or a patching compound?
11 years agoA: Like many things, the answer most likely is “it all depends”. If the muffler or pipe system is in relatively sturdy condition, and the hole, crack or corroded area is in a concentrated stop, then YES, this repair product can definitely last for the remaining life of the muffler. But of course it also depends on the quality of the repair job itself. If the damaged area is in such a location that the person cannot properly access it, or that the damage is in a joint that comes under stress, this product may provide only a temporary solution.
