Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator creates a true weathered look by aging bare or untreated wood in minutes. It replicates the aging process that happens in nature by reacting with the wood to create a one-of-a-kind weathered look. Simply wipe on the product and allow it to sit for 30 minutes to an hour.

Amazing Reaults

I used this product on dressed three side pine. I used it in the rough side. The end result is incredible. It turned out better than I had hoped. What I love the most is how each piece of wood, even sections of the wood reacted differently. Every piece is unique. I found it easy to apply with a synthetic brush. It took me just over 5 mins to cover a 16ft 8x3/4 piece of pine. If using it undressed wood, I recommend giving it a quick sand to open the pores of the wood. I’ll be using this product to create custom window and door casing.
I’m not a contractor. Just an overly ambitious DIY’er :-)

Use this to fix a tricky renovation.

I added new siding right next to beautifully weathered 70 year old siding where I changed the size of windows and put in French doors. It was an instant way to get that aged look of the 70-year-old Cedar next to the new cedar trim. Very happy with how it turned out and the fact that even after it only been on for a day, it started to age more and now three months later they actually look like they match.

I had to sand it all off as the color ended up being more brown then grey. Super disappointed.

Très déçu du résultat, je croyais vraiment avoir trouver un produit miracle....

Je pensais vraiment qu'en 2024, on avait trouver un produit pour faire vieillir le bois, on est loin du vrai processus qui demande du temps, du soleil et de la pluie...
