May not be deep enough for all adapters

I would say that vast majority of the people will not have this problem but I found it was not deep enough for the "MotoMaster 100W Mobile Power Outlet and Inverter with USB". I could not get it stay plugged in. But besides that, it does as advertised.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Any switches? Wanted to know if it uses power switches or if sockets constantly pull electricity from the battery

    2 Answers
    • A: If nothing is plugged in to the sockets it does not pull any electricity. The LED power indicator would draw a negligible amount of power.

Q: Type S 12V Triple Socket Power Adapter replacement fuse The fuse on this device blew out. The manufacturer recommends 5A fuse. Cdn Tire does not have it. Can the 6A fuse be used?

    1 Answer
    • A: Per our experience, if the size (long or short) for 6A fuse is consistent with 5A, then 6A fuse can be used.

Q: where can i find spare fuses for this. What is the cost I just bought this device a couple of weeks ago and the fuse has blown out. I was only using a 12 v tire inflator when this happened.

    1 Answer
    • A: A fuse should be able to be found at an automotive or electronics store. Not sure on the cost as that can vary significantly by location. For the fuse to blow would typically mean the tire inflator draws more than 5 amps. If the consumer is using a high amp device they should plug directly into their vehicle 12V socket which typically will allow 10-15A .

Q: Does this product come with hardware to "direct/hard wire" the product into a power source in the car?

    1 Answer
    • A: Not really. One end has a cigarette lighter adapter, you plug that into your adapter and then you have three new sources of power.

Q: How do you replace the fuse? A tag, at the male end, states "Replaceable 8 A Fuse." I have taken the screw out of the unit and unwound the end piece. How do I disassemble this to replace the fuse?

    1 Answer
    • A: No need to take the screw out. The end of the fuse is what you see when you unwind the end piece. Unfortunately, Canadian Tire doesn't stock the replacement 8A fuse. Instead, I used the 6A fuses that are available at Canadian Tire.

Q: Does it burn the fuse? Some of these products end up burning the fuse in the car, will it hold up for charging the GPS and FM transmitter? Thanks

    1 Answer
    • A: I don't think it would burn the fuse in the car, as my unit has its own fuse, which has tripped from too much amperage. The tag on the unit states that there is a replaceable 8A fuse. You could check the draw of your GPS and FM transmitter. My GPS and FM transmitter have worked fine on many trips from Mississauga to North Bay. I tripped the fuse in the unit with a GPS and a heater;)
