Lesson learned - buy Canadian

I realize it's a garbage can, but it's garbage! First one had a manufacturer's flaw (Crack in the back of the can), so I exchanged it .. made sure this one wasn't flawed. It appeared okay - until I unwrapped it. The pedal looks like crumpled foil, the lid has a ding that was not visible through the plastic wrap, and the lid doesn't close straight. This one is going back too. Can't justify that kind of money (even was on sale) for this junk. Need to replace it with something made in Canada, not China.

Rustsy screws and rivets, lever broke in days.

It's stainless steel but the rivets and screws are not and rust out. The lever broke on both, I have one for garbage and one for recycle, don't waste your money.

Label was very difficult to remove

The label was very difficult to remove and required acetone to remove remaining glue. Otherwise, the lid functions well, especially the slow closing mechanism.

Q: Is it one solid piece including the bottom? My current bin is open at the bottom with just a plastic tray. We live in an old house and mice get in under the sink and into the can where they chew through the plastic garbage bag, ignoring the traps we set.

Q: It there a way to keep the garbage bag completely hidden? I'm using the elastic to hold the bag in place, but there's still a bit of the bag that peeks out. I'm a little disappointed by this.

A: Hello, You should be able to lift the liner of the bin and tuck the bag around the liner. When you drop the liner back in the bin it will be hidden. Thanks,

Q: Procedure on how to use the stay open feature of this bin?

A: The lid on this bin stays open by: - Manually lifting the lid (without pressing the pedal) past the 90 degree angle and the lid will remain open. - Firmly pressing the foot pedal such that the lid passes the 90 degree point (you’ll hear a click) then slowly releasing your foot off the pedal. To close the lid, simply tap the foot pedal.
