The Tundra Tested 12V Winch Kit, with a 2000 lb rated line pull, is powered by a Permanent Magnet 1.0HP, 12V DC motor. It comes equipped with 50' of 5/32" steel cable with a snap hook and has a 153:1 gear reduction ratio. The sealed handlebar mounted switch provides easy access, and the kit includes a mounting plate for convenient installation. The winch is also equipped with a 4-way roller fairlead to safeguard your vehicle from scratches, and a pull and turn free spooling clutch.

Mounting bracket is way to small so had to mount base plate to original base plate. Other than that works grate, easily installed. Definitely worth the money especially if you get at sale price like i did for $69.99.

A: Hi , I do not understand your question , tf your winch is new it is the hook that will not pass between the rollers , There is 2 ways you can pass the hook through the rollers , in both cases you must move the cable out electrikly or by free wheeling ( the knob on the side of the drum must be pulled out and turned 90 degrees for free wheeling ) 1- Unwind all your cabel unlock the end and pass it through the rollers lock the end , Where gloves reingage the knob to inrolle the cable in , Make sure that the cable does never crise cross this would damage the cable when you pull something heavy , When it happens and it will , Undwind a bit place the cable and rewind ... 2- Pull the knob out same as above pull the cable out about 4 inches , Undo the snap ring at one end of the top roller pull it out pass the hook and replace the roller and snap ring , You are ready to use your winch Have fun , Georgesg

A: You’ll need the correct mounting bracket, the one that coed with the winch is a universal one and may not fit.

Q: Can I reverse winding rotation by changing polarity on this winch with a switch (dpdt) and have it function both ways? Thanks

A: I don't know if you can do that. But you don't need to, since it already functions both ways. You can automatically wind or unwind the winch just by pressing the IN or OUT button.

Q: Is this waterproof or at least resistant? On a atv not being waterproof is not practical at all

A: I modified it to rotate the chute on my tractor snow blower and used it all last winter with no problems. I inspected it this spring and there are no signs of water infiltration. So, I would say it is water proof.
