Q: Hello We purchased the XP 420cc 3-Stage Snowblower, 30-in last year and it worked great. going through heavy snow slush etc the auger belt started smoking and broke and replaced . This year twice the belt broke What’s wrong with this thing
3 years agoA: I just had the same experience that Syvian had. First time used the belt starts smoking, and making a lot of noise. Now it sounds like a bearing is gone, as it clunks as it rotates. Going through multiple shear pins since that episode as well. It is dead again after my third time using it. I am not impressed.

Q: My Troy-Bilt 30" 420 cc 3 stage blower with power chute has stopped moving the chute deflector. The chute still swings back and forth but I cannot control the height of the discharged snow. What should I be looking at to repair this problem?
2 years agoA: There is a cable that is attached to that deflector. Take a look at the cable to see if it needs repaired.

Q: Does this machine come with oil already in it?
2 years agoA: If I recall correctly, the engine does come with a minimal amount of oil. However I would ensure you fill up the oil to the correct reading on the engine oil dipstick. Canadian Tire sells the correct oil required for this machine. You can always fill up the gas when required but once the oil is gone so too could be your engine!!!

Q: Troybilt XP 420cc 30" 3-stage snow blower. Specs say electric start. Is it battery or 120v?
3 years agoA: Thank you for your question. Simply plug an outdoor extension cord rated for 15 amps and 125 volts into the electric start switch on this snow thrower - and a ground fault protected outlet at the house, then press the start button. Once the engine is started remove the extension cord.

3 years agoA: Thank you for your question. The fuel tank on this premim winterized OHV engine holds 5qt - 4732ml (4.7 litres) of fuel. Use fresh ethanol-free gasoline for reliable starts. Add a quality fuel stabilizer such as STA-BIL® or StarTron® to your gas container before purchasing fuel to ensure troubl-free starting of outdoor power equipment, especially after seasonal storage.
