Waste of effort and money

Bought a Troy built 3 stage 357 cc 28 inch blower a few years back. Im the laughing stock of the street because of of the extremely poor performance from this machine. If the outside air temp is warmer than minus 5C degrees, the machine turns doing my driveway into a painstakingly ordeal. Underpowered and a shoot that constantly gets blocked causes me to stop every 90 seconds to free snow so I can resume. Reverse speed is annoyingly slow, not sure if troy built put some kind of safety in their machine with reverse but common!! I'm be purchasing another machine next year and can't wait. Im so ashamed of this blower that I can't bare to sell it second hand to some unsuspecting person as I'd feel too guilty and may just discard a running machine to in recycling. 3 stage is absolute garbage!

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SNOWBLOWER

This snow blower is an absolutely dreadful piece of garbage. The chute clogs consistently with even the smallest amount of barely damp snow. The only thing I'm able to get it to blow is fresh powder. Otherwise it barely shoots two feet. I paid $2600 for this and it is sadly the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. Please, do not spend your money on this.

Very disappointed

I bought this snowblower to clear a large snowfall and could not get my 15 year old Yardworks 26" going. On first use I noticed that this will not go into 2nd reverse gear so backing up is VERY slow. it ran for 6 hours and was parked in my heated shop for a couple days. when I moved it I noticed a puddle of oil on the shop floor. Trying to get in touch with TroyBilt is not easy. I'm just going to take it to the service depot and hope they fix it. :(

J.ai acheté cette souffleuse il y a deux ans. le problème c'est les goupilles de cisaillement . Lorsque je nettoies mon entré, j'ai une moyenne de deux goupilles qui cassent. Le problème est que la vitesse de déblaiement par en avant est trop rapide. C'est extrêmement rare que je peux prendre 30 pouces de large à la fois sans cassé une goupille.

Pour l'accelérateur central, il faut des goupilles argentées numéro 738-06654 avec la lettre A imprimée sur la tête. Pour les tarières latérales, il vous faut des goupilles noires numéro OEM-738-05273 avec un 3 gravé sur la tête. Disponible en paquet OES-738-05273 à troybilt.ca

A: I just had the same experience that Syvian had. First time used the belt starts smoking, and making a lot of noise. Now it sounds like a bearing is gone, as it clunks as it rotates. Going through multiple shear pins since that episode as well. It is dead again after my third time using it. I am not impressed.

Q: My Troy-Bilt 30" 420 cc 3 stage blower with power chute has stopped moving the chute deflector. The chute still swings back and forth but I cannot control the height of the discharged snow. What should I be looking at to repair this problem?

A: If I recall correctly, the engine does come with a minimal amount of oil. However I would ensure you fill up the oil to the correct reading on the engine oil dipstick. Canadian Tire sells the correct oil required for this machine. Click on this link. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-4-stroke-snowblower-snowthrower-oil-5w30-946-ml-0281728p.0281728.html?rq=snowblower+oil#srp As a good practice you should always check your oil before use on any small engine. You can always fill up the gas when required but once the oil is gone so too could be your engine!!!

Q: Troybilt XP 420cc 30" 3-stage snow blower. Specs say electric start. Is it battery or 120v?

A: Thank you for your question. Simply plug an outdoor extension cord rated for 15 amps and 125 volts into the electric start switch on this snow thrower - and a ground fault protected outlet at the house, then press the start button. Once the engine is started remove the extension cord.

Add a quality fuel stabilizer such as STA-BIL® or StarTron® to your gas container before purchasing fuel to ensure troubl-free starting of outdoor power equipment, especially after seasonal storage.
