      Transmission issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this twice and it wouldn’t run. 1 month out of warranty so I took it apart...transmission seal out of place. Put it back, replaced the gear oil. Ran it two more times. Thought all was good, but it quit on me in the middle of Spring tilling. It’s sitting in my shed because the wheels don’t turn. I’ll take it apart again when I have time....pretty sure it’s the seal again. It also has 1 speed, slower than a snail. Do not buy!

No, I do not recommend this product.

I used this tiller to expand my garden, breaking turf with spruce roots. It was outstanding for that purpose, very easy to control and even ripping out roots up to 1 inch diameter. Very little assembly required and it started on the first pull! It does fairly well in cultivating existing garden soil. The only drawback is it doesn't do a good job of mixing in material that's on the surface such as leaves. Great for breaking new ground but if you're just tilling established garden soil, a traditional rear-tine cultivator would be better.

      Yes, I recommend this product.
