Great machine but eat your wheaties!

I have owned this machine for several years and its still like new and has minor issues from use. The plastic has held up surprisingly well thus far and do expect the steering triggers to be the first to break.....Engine is slightly under powered and/or the gear ratio in first should be slightly slower as with deep banks it will kill the engine even in first gear. The engine Always starts first pull as long as the choke is on somehow even after being warmed up it still wants choke to restart. . It does take allot of input to keep this thing on track and if your not physically a large strong person it may not be a good choice. I just fired it up again this year and for the first time used it in town. Cleared the street sidewalks and back alley of the whole block in an hour.

Pretty decent machine!

I bought this blower 5 years ago. The drive system can be a bit touchy to get set up right but overall it works pretty well, frost or ice perhaps on the drive disk can cause a bit of an issue when you first start using it sometimes but generally quits after a few minutes of use. Rule #1 no snowblower works that great in heavy wet snow near the freezing mark! In dry snow it works very well. It has decent power for those conditions. Considering it has 13HP it moves lots of snow very well. Keep in mind a 7’ blower in 6 inches of snow will make a 60HP diesel tractor work pretty hard at a good walking pace. I’ve had to replace some shear pins, but that’s what they are for, so you don’t break something else instead. I had to replace my recoil rope last week. It did seem like it wasn’t the best quality rope, but for a toonie I got good rope and about 30 minutes to put the new rope in. Not a big issue. In a foot of snow just gear down to first or second and her governor opens up and she just barks as the snow is flying 30’ away. Overall quite happy with the purchase. Will it do things as fast as my tractor and big blower did, no. But it’s not a tractor either.

super bonne machine

Q: chains I it possible to use chains on the tires of this snowthrower product # 60 -3737-6?

3 Answers
  • A: Yes it is, but if I was you I would consider trading this unit for one with tracks, once you'll try it, you will never want to come back with wheels and that even if the machine is smaller, you will move more snow than this oversize snowblower

Q: 342 cm c,est combien de forces

2 Answers

Q: Where can I buy replacement belts for this snowblower? The owner's manual states that this snowblower uses 42" and 44" belts for the auger and drive, but I have never seen these belts at any Canadian Tire I have visited. Also, is the MTD brand the same as TroyBilt?

Translate with Google
1 Answer
