Throws snow far. Faster than 2 stage but....

Fast and powerful. Chute controls are poor...no matter how much you adjust them you always have to adjust by hand. My biggest peeve is the sheer pins. In less than 2 seasons, I have gone through 12 sheer pins. I had an Ariens 2 stage previous....in 8 years, I went through 2 sheer pins. Easy to replace but inconvenient. Also becoming harder to find said sheer pins. Very heavy unit...my wife could handle the Ariens but not the Troybilt.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Keeping those accelerators turning is key to unlocking the full performance of the three stage machines. For the centre accelerators you'll want to use only original equipment shear pins number 738-06654 with a letter A stamped in the head. For the side augers you'll want pins number OEM-738-05273 with a 3 stamped in the head. Contact Troy-Bilt Canada at 1-800-668-1238 for assistance.

Love the 3 stage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not sure if I have the above model but mine is a 3 stage. It cuts right thru the hard, crusted snow left by the snow plow after it plows my cars in. I'm shocked by just how far it throws the snow, even wet snow and will even clear the slushy wet stuff, won't throw it far but just enough to get bye. Heated handles are GREAT. It's the only gas product I have that after sitting for 9 months, starts by the 3rd pull. The steering "grips" are great and are a big help to me being 74 years old. I've had it about 5 years.

Side spinners on 3 stage are not spinning fast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased 2 years ago. Last year the side spinners are not spinning fast enough to shoot snow out. Instead it just pushes the snow especially when heavy. I bought the 3 stage because I live on a corner and get hit super hard by the plows. The product worked good the first year and now not good at all. I checked all belts and tension and is good. Not sure what is wrong with it. Dissatisfied to say the least. I do trust Troy products but confused as to why this one doesn't operate correctly?
