Paint for Fireplace

Bought this to paint the frame of my 30 year old fireplace. I was hesitant at first since I didnt know how smooth or shiny it would be. Paint is very watery compared to regular wall paint. So be careful of dripping. But it looks great on my fireplace now. Since it is water it is easy to spread. The smell is strong and harder to scrub off you skin. So if doing indoors, best to do it on a day you can open the windows. Possibly wear gloves as well. But i do recommend if you wan to renew the look of some older items.

Great to hear how your project turned out! Just keep in mind, our Tremclad High Heat paint was designed to coat the exterior of the fireplace. When painting the inside of the fireplace, the coating is too close to the heat source and won't be able to withstand the amount of heat it will be exposed to and may start to crack and peel away from the surface. Q: Can I use it on the inside of the lid of my bbq?

A: Hi, Great question! Our Tremclad High Heat is recommended for the exterior of your BBQ only. We do not recommend it for the inside of the lid as the product can not withstand the amount of heat it will be exposed to. Unfortunately we do not have a product to recommend for your project.

A: I didn’t use primer. It’s not the first coat. Very good but doesn’t last that long. One small can goes a long way.

A: I cannot see why not as long as u wipe down poles with a go cleaner like a paint thinner or paint gun wash so there is no oil on it should work great

A: A high-heat automotive paint would be recommended for painting brake calipers. Automotive high-heat paints have a higher heat threshold than Tremclad High Heat enamel.

Q: Can I use this on my baseboard heaters?

A: Hi Gabe, Our Tremclad High Heat requires a heat cure of a minimum of 350F, which the baseboard heaters may not reach when turned on. As long as the surface temperature does not exceed 200F, you can apply our regular Tremclad Rust Paint in the colour of your choice to your baseboard heaters.
