Beware of the temperature.

Great product ... I should have known better, but tried painting my metal shed on warm day with sun and shade. It was impossible to apply, dried sticky, tacky and the surface was like sandpaper. I waited until a cool, cloudy day and had no problems.

Q: Will this work for painting a trailer or will it rub off by hauling things

2 Answers
  • A: Hi, Great question! We do not recommend our Tremclad for automobile applications. The coating will not be able to withstand the amount of wear & tear it will be exposed to and would require frequent touch ups. We hope this new information is helpful.

Q: Can I spray tremclsd on a sea container

Q: How will Tremclad work on repainting a very faded fibreglass boat. Above the water line only

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Patrick, Our Tremclad Oil-Based Rust Paint is for metal surfaces only. For fiberglass, you can use our Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X. Clean the surface well and scuff sand the surface with 220-grit sandpaper for maximum adhesion.

Q: Can this be used for painting a dump box of my truck.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Jasper, While our Tremclad was not designed for this type of application; customers have reported success in coating their automobile parts with our paint. For prep, we recommend a very good clean using a heavy duty cleaner and degreaser and wire brush to remove any loose rust once the surface is dry. Lightly scuff sand any paint film with 220-grit for maximum adhesion. Make sure to test on a small area first. As well, frequent touch ups may be required as the paint will not be able to withstand the amount of wear and tear it will be exposed to on your dump box.

Q: Puis-je peinturer ma chaloupe en aluminum.

Translate with Google
1 Answer
