Q: does it have any style of video output? HDMI, RCA? is there any automotive gps unit offered that has a video or tv output ?

A: There is no video output on the TomTom 45M GPS. None of the GPS units that Canadian Tire Carries offer Video or TV outputs.

Q: Why does the display not come on. When starting up the unit it often fails to show the display screen. All that happens is I hear the 'drum sound' indicating it is starting but the screen stays blank. I purchased this unit (TomTom 1500 in April)

A: It is suggested that the customer hold the On/Off button down until they hear the TOMTOM drums (approximately 10 seconds). This is similar to a hard reboot of a computer.
