Add red wine and dish soap instead!

After a few days there were no fruit flies in the trap. So I dumped out the liquid that came with the trap and added a bit of red wine with a drop of dish soap. That worked much better! I like the cute apple shape, it makes it easy to make your own homemade fruit fly trap.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Disappointed

I bought a few of these last year and they worked great . I saved them thinking I would come back this year and purchase the refills for them. Much to my surprise you don’t sell refills so I had to more of the containers . They work so well but feel refills would be the way to go . I know have 4 of them . Hopefully you will consider our environment and supply us with just the refills .

Q: It says this fruit fly trap is good for 30 days... is this trap reuseable?

A: Technically yes, you can rinse it out and refill it with the attractant - it's basically soap + acetic acid + water (the exact formula is on Terro's website under specifications). However, I don't think the mixture is available standalone from Terro, so you basically throw it out and buy another one.
