It didn’t work, couple of flies sat on top of the trap, but didn’t go inside.

a day ago

Tried a homemade trap with apple cider vinegar with no success. This looked more practical, but after 5 days there were no flies in either trap. Traps are re-usable, so might work with a different attractant.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TERRO® Fruit Fly Trap. We’re sorry to hear it hasn’t caught any flies yet. For best results, place the trap directly where fruit flies are most active, make sure the entry holes are clear, and remove competing food sources like overripe fruit or spills so the lure is the strongest attraction. Keeping the trap away from fans or vents can also help the scent stay concentrated.

Q: It says this fruit fly trap is good for 30 days... is this trap reuseable?

A: Technically yes, you can rinse it out and refill it with the attractant - it's basically soap + acetic acid + water (the exact formula is on Terro's website under specifications). However, I don't think the mixture is available standalone from Terro, so you basically throw it out and buy another one.
