    wayyyyyy over priced

350 is ridiculous of a price! These used to be 75 and often could get them on sale for like 50?! Super shocked to see these are crazy expensive now. I assumed with all the new vehicles having command start these would have dropped in price not turned them into gold... bizarre.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thermal fuse is an issue in cold temperatures.

You'll have to warm up your heater before you plug it in or you'll blow the thermal fuse which can be difficult to source and quite difficult to replace (at temps of about -18C and below). They are useful if you're looking for something that gives off a good amount of heat in small low profile package. The price point is on the highside, but I do like the solid metal enclosure.

    • A: No. The car has to be plugged into power in order to work. It does not replace your regular car heater while driving.

Q: How fo I plug it into my block heater, will my block heater also have to be plugged in?

    • A: The little buddy car warmer is only for the interior of you vehicle. You need to plug it into a suitable outlet or extension cord, with the block heater or separately. Your block heater still needs to be plugged in, if the temperature is below -10 c.

Q: What's the difference between this and the vehicle interior heater, item #030-3409-0 as sold on Canadian Tire?

    2 Answers
    • A: This is used to heat the interior of your car while it is parked in your driveway at night. It keeps the windows defrosted and the interior warm. It has to be plugged into an AC socket. I ran the plug through the firewall and coupled it with my block heater plug.

    • A: Once fuse part is blown, no good for heating. That’s how you are forced to buy a new one.

Q: How does it work (is it convection or forced-air via a fan)? If by fan, does it make much noise like a hair dryer or is it very quiet?

    2 Answers
    • A: There is a fan in the car warmer. It helps circulate the heat that the car warmer generates. This fan is specifically made for this type of product. It is much more robust than a hair dryer fan.

Q: how would you plug in/ install this?

    2 Answers
    • A: Typical install is into your front passenger area, either above the foot area or onto the right side of lower centre console. The wire feeds through your firewall. Run the wire safely out the front of your vehicle and attach the 110V plug. Works VERY nice.. reduces the need to scrape ice by 90%. Keeps the inside nice & cozy.
