Improved Redesign?

So happy this went on sale as like many others the product sold last year for no reason popped the plastic piece shortly before the previous flyer came out. The extended brush and squeegee especially for heavy snow storms significantly reduce the amount of time clearing off the car, not to say a regular brush and scraper are inferior and as a proud Canadian, I like many have at least one or two of each. Really hoping to get more than one season out of this model and if I could somehow figure out how to McGyver the broken one I would rather that than throwing it in the trash. Still have the receipt from January but based on some of the comments felt it wasn't worth arguing for a refund/replacement.

Q: The snow brush is fully extended and I can’t get it to unlock to shorten the brush. When I press the button to shorten the wand doesn’t shorten. Thank you for your help.
