    Buyer Beware

Bought this unit 2 years ago. Approx $400.00. Minimum use (maybe 12 times) and tonight after using it, I went to unplug the unit and noticed that the plug had melted.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Love/Hate relationship with my 2 in 1

I tried other air fryers (including from ActiFry) before settling on the 2 in 1. Things I love about it (in no particular order): 1) It's versatile, with the bottom layer for things you can stir, and the top layer for more delicate items like tempura prawns. 2) It's super fast at cooking the most tender skinless boneless chicken thighs ever. 3) Even if you cook thighs with the skin still on, there's no grid for the fat to drop through and smoke up your kitchen. 4) It does the stirring for me, with minimal intervention. 5) Stuff that should be crisp really does end up being crisp. 6) The bottom layer has a nice deep well, allowing for more food to cook, and some leeway with sauces. 7) It mostly comes apart easily for cleaning, including the clear lid and the filter grate. 8) The heat stops when the timer stops. If I'm busy doing something and miss the beeping (rarely, as it's a good volume), the worst that will happen is my food will cool off. No worries about ruined food or a kitchen fire. What I hate (more and more every day...) 1) The advertising makes much of it's 'no-stick' benefits. What you don't know until you try it is that only parts of it are no-stick. The main parts of the pans are no stick (wonderful!), but the lower pan has a definite-stick area inside as part of the handle. It also juts out into the pan, and food sticks all up and down in the corners on either side. 2) The stirring paddle (love the function, HATE HATE HATE cleaning the paddle!) is made of special SUPER HARD TO CLEAN plastic. It's all molded to do a good job stirring the food, making for many curved and difficult bits to clean. 3) Yeah, I hate the paddle so much it gets another entry. The bottom of the paddle is HOLLOW GRID WORK, made of (remember?) SUPER HARD TO CLEAN plastic. Sometimes it takes longer to clean the paddle than it did to cook the food. 4) Did I mention the paddle? I just don't understand why they went to so much trouble to design an easy to use product, and then bailed on certain parts and made them a nightmare to clean. So many times I've wanted to recommend the ActiFry 2 in 1 to friends or family, but I don't, all because of the issues cleaning it. How about it, t-fal? You guys are the masters of non-stick. Can't you make a non-stick paddle with a sealed bottom? I'd be singing your praises to the rooftops!

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this unit about 2 years ago. Medium use. It gave out and stopped working, upon looking inside the unit saw that the plastic had started to melt on the back. This unit is a $400 unit. They said unfortunately 1 year warranty and I could send it in at my own expense, then they would replace the parts and fix it, then ship it back at my expense. That is a big unit to ship back and forth and could essentially cost me almost the full price of the unit. They wouldn't even cover the parts. Would never buy T-Fal again! Stick to Cuisinart!

Good for veggies, meat or fish

I've had this for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I don't (more like can't) cook so this is a perfect tool for me. You can technically add oil if you want something friend. I use this to fry bacon because it doesn't make the house smell as much as when I use the pan. The cover sort of contains the smell. There are recipes online, but I don't bother. I just make things up. You can cook veggies at the bottom and grill on top at the same time; easy peasy. However, do not expect crispy fries/sweet potato friends, they're more like baked rather than fried.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    "Awesome machine"

Ok. I bought this machine 2 weeks ago and I've been trying different recipes. This is one of the best small kitchen appliance I've ever bought. The only thingI was disappointed with was that it didn't come with a good recipe book. The one in the box was OK but I know that the book that comes with the Family version is way better. So, I've searched the internet for recipes... found some and also started creating my own. My husband has had open heart surgery earlier this year and we've been serious with our nutrition. He loves deep fried food and I vowed that I wasn't going to make anymore deep fried food again. The T-Fal Actifry is a great solution. Sometimes I don't even use the oil recommended and the food is great. I would definitely recommend this product... especially the 2 in 1.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
