Superwinch 2500 for my ATV

This winch has the same HP and gear ratio as a 3000 lb. winch. In my opinion this winch is under rated. Construction is very good, The motor is powerful and smooth. The gear box (which is divorced from the motor side) is relatively quiet unlike the el-cheapo 2000 lb. winch it replaced. The free wheel leaver is slick to operate. All the required wiring is in the box. The relay can be wired so the winch only works with key-on for added security.
Yes, I recommend this product.

this winch was easy to install, about 3 1/2 hours in totall....i had to purchase a bracket separate for a 2012 -500-polaris sportsman.
i tried the winch out both with the hand held unit and the quad thumb device and it worked fine.

I BOUGHT THIS AND THE FIRST TIME OUT WITH IT, I GOT STUCK BECAUSE OF THE BIG STORM WE HAD. THE CABLE GOT HOOKED UP IN THE BODY OF THE WINCH. I LIVE ON 43 ACHERS. WALKED BACK TO THE HOUSE TO GET TOOLS. TOOK IT OFF, BROUGHT IT HOME AND FIXED IT. TOOK IT BACK, AND PUT IT ON AGAIN. FOR THE MONEY I SPENT, I THOUGHT IT WOULD WORK ON ITS OWN INSTEAD OF YOU TRYING TO GIUDE THE CABLE IN AND TRY TO GET OUT OF A RUT AT THE SAME TIME. I DIDN'T LIKE IT AT ALL.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: I will say yes but with limits, use caution because cable when pulled at various angles drops in rated strength by a large factor. Consult the riggers hand book for more details

Q: I have a Polaris Sportsman Touring 500EFI 2 passengers 2008 and my winch is broken. Can this winch be installed on my original bracket?

A: Yes. The Superwinch comes with two predrilled mounting holes, one of which is slotted. In my case these holes lined up the same as the winch it replaced. there appears to be some mounting universality in this smaller winch category.

Q: have 400 polaris with broken winch,will this bolt on and use the power source that came with atv when new.

A: If your machines winch power supply is set up with a separate power relay (as opposed to winch power going through the control switch) it should be able to handle the draw of a 1.2 hp. motor. Otherwise all the required power supply components or in the box.

Q: Can you supply the mounting bracket for this winch ? Without a mounting bracket specific to your machine, this winch can not be attached !

A: The line pull is 2500 to 3000 lbs. depending on the badging, This winch is sold under different names and ratings in different marketing areas.

A: This unit should be a direct replacement if you are replacing the equivalent rated winch 2500-3500 lbs The bolt pattern is 3.0" x 4.87" (76mm x 124mm), please check your current winch and make sure this is the correct size
