Bought this two weeks ago when I noticed my sump pump running frequently and with the attached float switch not shutting off before the pump was drawing air. The limited travel also did not allow maximum use of available sump space before triggering, thus more frequent and noisy operation. The tethered float came with a simple adjustable mounting clamp. It took one or two cycles and a slight adjustment to get the right free length for the float to meet my required application. The 1/3 HP (water) submersible pump has been working well and quietly since; allowing more water to collect each cycle and not running so low as to cause pump cavitation.

Dont buy!!

The float switch burnt out after only 4 weeks with a 10-11amp load. It's rated for 15amps online but clearly not... Flooded my basement again. Def not impressed considering how difficult it was to replace and install in a septic pit. Find another brand if you want any kind of reliability.

A: Switch Can only operate Pumps with lower Amperage ratings then 10 Amps. constant Load and 60 Amp Surge Load. Does not matter the Horsepower Rating of the pump. The switch which is being supplied can no longer handle 15 amp Load

Q: Can I use this in deep well drinking or potable water tank?

A: Yes, it can be use in potable water tank but clean it well using dishwashing detergent prior to drop it in water. This model turns the pump on when the float is up and turns off when the float is down.
