Inaccurate Specs

The reach measurement on these brakes is inaccurate. My bike requires a 61mm caliper, which is listed as the minimum reach for these brakes. I found that they have a minimum reach closer to 66mm however. I also measured the max reach, which is closer to 82mm, not the 79mm listed here. You get what you pay for.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A: The distance between mounting screw and the actual brake pad minimum is 61mm, and the maximum is 79mm.

Q: Retrofitting this onto a mountain bike I own an Supercycle XT-18 (24") bike and was looking at retrofitting these side-pull calipers to them. Would that work? (Enough tire clearance?) Would using the mounting holes for the reflectors work for this purpose?

A: Will this product be suitable for your bicycle or not will depend on the actual measure of the distance between bike’s center point of fork and the center of wheel rim. If the bike has fenders installed, the measure of distance will be different, and that will affect the selection of product. Here attached please find the document of “How to determine the size of side-pull brake calipers”. Also, the mounting hole can be used for reflector if using the reflector bracket.

Q: Is it possible to install these brakes onto the 26-in Women's SuperCycle Classic Cruiser (Product #71-1320-2)? Is there any way to mount these brakes onto the cruiser bike?

A: This product suits for bikes form 20”-24”, and it is not suitable for 26” bike. For 26” bikes, please chose SKU #073-7426, Supercycle long Side-Pull Bike Brake Calipers.
